1. Who we are

MyDataTools.ca is operated by MyWaypoint Technologies Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to MyWaypoint Technologies Inc.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Tool usage

When you use the data tools on this site (Data Health Checker, CSV Validator, PII Scanner, Dataset Documentation Generator, Postal Code Lookup, Address Geocoder, Dataset Change Monitor), no file content or input data is transmitted to our servers. All processing occurs client-side using JavaScript running in your browser. We do not receive, store, or log any data you process using these tools.

2.2 Address Geocoder

The Address Geocoder sends your address query directly from your browser to Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org), a service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. This query is not routed through MyDataTools servers. The OpenStreetMap Foundation's own privacy policy governs how Nominatim handles these requests.

2.3 Contact inquiries

If you contact us via the Contact page, you may provide your name, email address, and message content. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your information with third parties, or use it for any other purpose.

2.4 Server access logs

Our web host may retain standard server access logs (IP address, request timestamp, page accessed, user agent) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used for analytics, advertising, or profiling. They are retained for a limited period as required for security operations and then deleted.

3. Cookies and tracking

This website does not set cookies of any kind. We do not use analytics software, advertising pixels, session tracking, fingerprinting, or any other form of behavioural surveillance. See our Cookie Policy for a detailed statement.

4. How we use information

The only personal information we collect is what you voluntarily provide through a contact form or email. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade personal information with any third party.

5. Data retention

Contact inquiries are retained only as long as necessary to respond and resolve the matter. Server access logs are retained for a limited security period. We do not retain tool processing data because none is transmitted to us.

6. Your rights under PIPEDA

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request access to that information
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent for processing (where applicable)
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

7. Third-party services

This site uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The Address Geocoder tool makes a direct request from your browser to Nominatim (OpenStreetMap). We have no control over how that service handles requests and are not responsible for its privacy practices.

8. Children's privacy

This site is intended for use by organizations and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date and revise the policy text. We will not retroactively change how we handle previously collected information in a less protective way without notification.
